The Meadows Texas is an extended-care facility located on 55 pristine and secluded acres in the Sam Houston National
Forest, Montgomery Township. This eight-bed facility offers ongoing treatment using The Meadows' model, with a focus on
addiction and trauma resolution. Like The Meadows, The Meadows Texas is based in 12-Step traditions and healing.
The Meadows Texas philosophy is captured in the portrait of a buck - titled "Power and Grace" - that
hangs over the dramatic fireplace in the great room. The artwork represents the paradox of surrender to our disease,
which enables us to realize our potential -- "power." "Grace" is viewed in the context of Gerald May's premise that the
opposite of addiction is grace.
